Piusa river valley hiking trail (15 km)
Võru County, Haanja–Karula Recreation Area
15 km is one way, back and forth will be 30 km.
The trail starts at Vastseliina Episcopal Castle ruins and goes along the primeval valley of the Piusa River to Lindora village on Võru–Obinitsa road. In addition to nice outcrops there are several sites of old mills along the trail. The trail is equipped with wooden signs.

Driving directions | When coming from the direction of Võru, drive about 22 km along Luhamaa road (Road no. 2, E263), go past Vastseliina and turn left at the Illi bus stop. Drive 3.1 km along the asphalt road to Vastseliina Castle and Piiri tavern. The trail starts there. Near the castle there are signs and a map of the trail. When coming from the direction of Võru along Võru–Räpina road (Road no. 65), about 7 km after Kääpa turn towards Obinitsa (follow the signs). Go 18 km along the asphalt road to the Lindora bus stop and 500 m after the bus stop turn right onto a small road in the pine forest. The hiking trail sign is at the beginning of the road. Drive 1.1 km and after some buildings by the road on the left there is a parking area, shelter and a map of the trail. |
